b'SCOA Foundation and 100SEED: MakingGood on our Commitment to Give BackAmong 2021s newest charitable donations was to the Japan History Council of New York, which was established in 2020 for the purpose of collecting, preserving, publishing and disseminating the history of Japanese in New York. Also, SCOA Foundation donat-ed $3000 to the American Cancer Society for their October Cancer Awareness Month program this past year. Sumitomo Corporations 100SEED program aims to solve educational challenges for those in need through employee activities, and our annual 100SEED Day of Service gives employees a full workday to dedicate to charitable efforts. This years activities varied in scope but all created fulfilling opportunities for employees to get involved. Our New York Office members assisted in resume writing and mock interviews for prospective student job-seekers through the PENCIL program, while our Chicago Office participated in a virtual drive for Association House of Chicago and its Back to School Health Fair. The Los Angeles Office employees were volunteering at Heart of Compas-sion, a food bank and social service organization that works to alleviate hunger and food insecurities in Los Angeles. The Denver Office participated in the Japan America Society of Colorados Japan Cup, a student competition on subject matter ranging from current events to Japanese grammar. Our Houston Office was heavily involved in giving back this year through programssuch as Kids in Need Foundation, Kids Meals Inc., Together We Rise, First Responders Childrens Foundation as well as local school & library donations. In South America, we saw our Sao Paulo Office involved in book donation and foodSCOA donation for a local education center. In our Andes Office location, employees participated 100SEED in a local university student mentoring, while our Santiago Office organized the donation of supplies to the National Infant Service.
